Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid / 3 Days in Office) Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt Department: Finance & Accounting Reports To: Accounting Manager Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team. In this role, you will play a critical part in our daily financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Key Responsibilities General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and ensure the accuracy of all financial transactions. Month-End & Year-End Close: Assist in the timely execution of the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including preparing balance sheet reconciliations and variance analyses. Accounts Payable & Receivable Support: Oversee vendor invoice processing, employee expense reports, and customer billing reconciliations to ensure accurate cash flow tracking. Bank Reconciliations: Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations across multiple corporate accounts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies promptly. Fixed Assets & Depreciation: Track, record, and maintain fixed asset acquisitions, disposals, and monthly depreciation schedules. Tax & Audit Compliance: Support the preparation of local, state, and federal tax filings, and compile necessary schedules and documentation for external auditors. Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing accurate financial statements, internal management reports, and ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Qualifications and Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a highly related business field is strictly required. Experience: 1 to 3 years of professional accounting experience (corporate accounting or public accounting internship experience preferred). Technical Skills: * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, complex formulas). Hands-on experience with modern ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, SAP, or Sage) is highly preferred. Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and standard accounting procedures. Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, high attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to handle confidential financial data with integrity. Certifications: Progress toward a CPA license or CMA certification is a major plus but not required.
